Professor Norichika Kanie of the Keio University Graduate School of Media and Governance has been selected to a panel of 15 scientists who will draft the 2023 Global Sustainable Development Report, as announced by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. This independent group of scientists and their report will inform the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to strengthen the science-policy interface and to serve as a strong evidence-based instrument to support policymakers in promoting poverty eradication and sustainable development.
Prof. Kanie’s xSDG Laboratory, based at Keio’s Shonan-Fujisawa Campus, aims to address and solve diverse social problems through the lens of the 17 SDGs and conduct broader solution-based research methods that go beyond academic research to formulate best practices for the SDGs.
